Kansas City firm signs deal to build beef processing plant for Walmart

       McCown-Gordon of Kansas City was hired to design and build a 330,000-square-foot beef plant for Walmart in Olathe, Kansas.
        The company works with ESI Design Services, Inc. from Heartland, Wisconsin over a $275 million facility.
        The launch of the project is scheduled for the end of this year. The project is expected to create over 1,000 design, manufacturing and construction jobs. Completion is expected in 2025.
        “Meeting the needs of national food and beverage brands with comprehensive design and construction services is the backbone of our growing manufacturing division,” McCownGordon CEO Ramin Cherafat said in a press release. the first owner and manager of a beef factory.
       The facilities where meat is processed, repackaged and sent to retail stores are expected to create 600 jobs.
       McCownGordon serves a wide range of manufacturing customers in the protein, beverage, dairy, pet food, pharmaceutical, consumer goods and heavy industrial sectors.
