Rockwell Automation Acquires Smart Conveyor Systems Manufacturer MagneMotion

       Rockwell said the move will help “create the broadest portfolio of autonomous truck solutions” in the emerging technology space.
        Milwaukee-based Rockwell Automation announced Wednesday that it is expanding its autonomous truck offering with the acquisition of smart conveyor systems maker MagneMotion. The terms were not disclosed.
       Rockwell said the move will complement its iTRAK to “create the broadest portfolio of autonomous trolley solutions in this emerging technology space.”
       MagneMotion automation products are used in automotive and final assembly, process and factory, packaging and material handling applications in heavy industry.

        MagneMotion, based in Devens, Massachusetts, will be integrated into Rockwell Automation’s architecture and software motion business. Rockwell said the acquisition is expected to close during the current quarter.
